Emotions are important bridges between our thought processes & our actions. The emotions change as per our thought process & our thought process changes as per our emotions. The emotions and thought process are like two sides of a coin, constantly flipping and influencing each other. They are interconnected not only to each other but also to the body. Our body is an expression of our thoughts, feelings & emotions. In fact I would say our body expresses the harmony between our mental, emotional state & our soul. If we are in alignment with our soul purpose, our emotions are positive or rather they are balanced. These balanced emotions represent emotional wellness.
The actions of a person can often provide deep insights into their overall wellness. Instead of solely focusing on words, it is crucial to pay attention to the actions one takes in different aspects of life. Are their actions appropriate? Do they align with their values and beliefs? Moreover, we should consider whether those actions are oriented towards any purpose or goal that benefits not only themselves but also society as a whole.
When examining someone's actions, it becomes evident if they are making conscious choices that positively impact their well-being and the greater good. For instance, individuals who prioritise self-care by engaging in regular exercise, maintaining a balanced diet, and practicing mindfulness show an understanding of the importance of physical and mental health. Additionally, those who take action toward social causes such as volunteering for charitable organizations or advocating for social justice demonstrate a commitment to improving society. By looking at these actions, we can truly assess how aligned an individual's behavior is with promoting wellness on both personal and societal levels.
On the other hand, we must also be aware of individuals whose actions do not contribute meaningfully to wellness. Those who consistently engage in self-destructive behaviors like substance abuse or unhealthy relationships reveal underlying issues that negatively impact their well-being. Furthermore, individuals whose actions promote harm to others through manipulation or dishonesty clearly lack empathy and compassion – two crucial elements for fostering collective well-being. Let’s understand with an example. There are two people A & B. Both have the same salary, same type of work & same timing. So the situation is the same for both of them, but A is a very happy person. He works with complete enthusiasm & honesty. He loves what he does. He also works another part time job after the office hours with the same enthusiasm. He is eager to learn new things & experiment with them. He enjoys his time with his friends & family as well. At the same time if he has to speak up for himself he is ready to do so. He does not hide his feelings & also gives freedom to others to express. He is energetic & would want to enjoy every moment of his life. B also works with honesty but he lacks enthusiasm. He never takes extra effort to complete the work. He does the job because it pays him handsomely. He is always under pressure. This pressure he takes home also & yes you guessed it right. His marriage life, his family life are also not so great. He is just pushing himself through the affairs of the family. He does not have any energy left to do anything extra.What is happening here, with both of these people? One is very energetic, whereas the other one lacks energy completely. Well, energy is just an expression of their state of mind & their emotional triggers. The actual reason is whether or not the person is in an emotionally balanced state. A enjoys life, is in control of his life & is fully present in the moment. B is not fully present in whatever he is doing. That is the reason he is always under pressure, disliking his work. He is nurturing just one aspect of his life - his finances. He is completely separated from his own emotions, thoughts & hence from body also. To put it simply, when the person feels good with his work or with his relationship or with his financial reality one can say that he is emotionally balanced. This balanced state of mind helps him cope up with the situation much better. He can participate in life with great enthusiasm, enjoy every moment of life & is in charge of life completely. This harmony keeps him healthy. On the other hand when one is not very happy with life or rather one aspect of life, he is suffering in the other areas also. This makes the person more vulnerable to illnesses, diseases etc. If we look at the word dis-ease it is made up of two words dis which means not & ease which means feeling comfortable. So whenever one is comfortable with life, one is at ease & not at comfort can put one to the state of disease. By prioritizing emotional wellness, we can pave the way for improved overall health – both mentally and physically. When we establish a solid foundation for managing emotions constructively instead of allowing them to overwhelm or control us, we create space for genuine growth, inner peace, empathy towards others' experiences, healthier coping mechanisms during challenging times – all contributing factors towards leading a happier life full of meaningful connections.
